Analysis: McGee said Tuesday he waited to have the operation on Monday, when the Bills began their bye week so that he would not miss much playing time. Buffalo is off until a road game against Tennessee on Nov. 15. McGee said doctors told him the operation went well. McGee, who hasn't missed a game this season, injured his knee during a 38-10 loss at Miami on Oct. 4.

Analysis: McGee, Buffalo's top cornerback the past two seasons, missed Friday's practice because of back spasms and is questionable for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. The 28-year-old led the Bills with three interceptions last season and is the team's all-time leader in kickoff returns (206) and kickoff return yards (5,420).

The cornerback was hurt about 30 minutes into the 90-minute practice Wednesday and did not return after entering the trainer's room. Bills coach Dick Jauron did not have an update on the player's injury following practice. Analysis: During team drills, McGee was shadowing Owens up the sideline when the two went up for a pass. Owens initially caught the ball but had it ripped out by McGee. The two then fell to the ground with Owens partially landing on the cornerback. McGee lay on the turf for a few before getting up on his own while favoring his shoulder.
